Images of a Homeland : The Music of Frederic Chopin
at 92nd Street Y's 60+ program
Members of the 92nd Street Y's 60+ program were thrilled to have an opportunity to hear, in recital, Marjan Kiepura, who together with Jane Knox-Kiepura, presented a commemorative program honoring Frederic Chopin in the Weill Art Gallery.
The program titled: "Images of a Homeland : The Music of Frederic Chopin" comprised stunning performances by Marjan of several Mazurkas as well as a Waltz and Prelude and included a fascinating narrative. He and Jane Knox, whose addition of poetry, made this an extraordinarily dynamic and beautiful afternoon. Chopin's Polish origins were exquisitely presented in both music and words. In short, this was an afternoon to remember.
